A TIME TO PRAY FOR THE PERSECUTED
On the first Sunday of each November, the global Church unites to intercede for Christians facing persecution for their faith.
This year, the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP) falls on November 3rd. Millions will be standing together in prayer on this day.
We invite you and your church to join in and we encourage you to include Iran in your prayers.
PRAY FOR IRAN: FREE RESOURCES
Did you know that persecution means more than just imprisonment? In Iran, Christians face challenges in their everyday lives for following Christ, even if they are never arrested. Through the stories of real individuals, these digital resources will broaden our awareness of what persecution looks like in Iran and inspire us to intercede afresh.
We hope you will spend time praying for whichever place or places the Lord is putting on your heart, even if it’s not Iran.
We recommend finding additional helpful IDOP resources on the websites of the Evangelical Alliance, Voice of the Martyrs and Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
If you feel prompted to discover more following the IDOP, here are three ideas:
-
Listen to our Jesus Speaks Farsi podcast to gain deeper insight into how the Lord is at work in the Persian-speaking church
-
Download and pray through our Iran 30 prayer guide, to pray for the nation of Iran and her church. You could encourage your small group to pray for Iran together. (If you would like to receive a hard copy, please request one via contact@elam.com)
-
Subscribe to receive our monthly prayer email, including latest prayer needs and encouraging stories from the Iranian church
Thank you for praying.
AFTER THE DAY OF PRAYER?
WANT TO GO DEEPER
Allow Iranian believers who have suffered for their faith in Christ to guide you in prayer
Use these five slides in your church meeting to pray through core prayer themes
Pray along with Iranian Christian, Azadeh, as she intercedes for those suffering for their faith
These resources can be used either in a Sunday service or in a prayer meeting, in small groups or large. Whether you pray on the designated day of IDOP, or set aside time on another day in November, you will be interceding in unity with Christians around the world.
